Which hash types can this online hash cracker search?

The free utility accepts standard hexadecimal MD5, SHA-1 and SHA-256 digests. It does not accept salted, encoded or slow password-hashing formats such as bcrypt or Argon2.

Can I mix MD5, SHA1 and SHA256 in one run?

Yes. The main Hash Cracker automatically identifies those three formats by digest length, so a single batch can contain all of them.

How many hashes can I search for free?

Each verified run accepts up to 100 hashes. The server also enforces a maximum of 1,000 processed hashes per visitor per UTC day.

Why is Cloudflare Turnstile required for every run?

Every lookup uses external database capacity. Single-use Turnstile verification, request throttling and a daily weighted quota work together to prevent automated abuse.

Does a “not found” result mean the plaintext cannot be recovered?

No. It means the active lookup databases did not return a known match. This free utility does not perform an exhaustive brute-force or dictionary attack.

Can I use this utility on hashes from another person or system?

Only when you own the data or have explicit authorization covering password recovery. Public exposure or possession of a hash is not permission to recover or use its plaintext.

Accurate terminology

Hash lookup is different from decryption

Cryptographic hashes are one-way digests, so there is no universal decrypt operation. A successful result means the same plaintext and digest were previously recorded by one of the lookup databases.

Coverage is strongest for common or previously exposed plaintexts. Unique passwords, properly salted hashes and slow password-hashing formats are intentionally outside this free lookup tool.
