It requests results from a specified domain, host or URL prefix, optionally combined with keywords and other operators.

Should there be a space after site:?

No. Use site:example.com rather than site: example.com. The builder formats the operator without that space.

Can I search one subdomain?

Yes. Enter the complete host, such as docs.example.com, to focus the query on that subdomain.

Can site: show every indexed URL?

No. Google states that site: results are not guaranteed to include every indexed URL. Use Search Console for authoritative diagnostics on a site you own.

The site: operator requests results associated with a domain, host or URL prefix. Combine it with a clear topic instead of treating it as a complete index report.
